Stokin’ Saturdays

Our Stokin’ Saturdays are a family-friendly beach meetup every 3rd Saturday of the month. Meet us between 8 am and 12 pm at Hanna Park to surf, paddle, and play, regardless of your skill level.  Grab your board or borrow one of ours – Share the stoke with Service Members, Veterans, 1st Responders, and their families!

Whether you’ve been surfing your whole life or have never touched a board, there’s a place for you with TFH1! During our Stokin’ Saturdays, our chapter leaders provide beginner boards to borrow and will walk with you every step of the way to catching your first wave. We also host surf clinics for kids and adults in partnership with other non-profits so everyone can feel comfortable in the water and experience the thrill of surfing in Florida!

If you’re a beginner planning on coming to one of our Stokin’ Saturday events, RSVP beforehand so we can ensure a team member is ready to coach you through catching some waves.

Why Surf?

The rhythmic movement of riding waves promotes physical fitness, improving strength, balance, and coordination. But mentally, surfing provides a unique escape from daily stressors, allowing you to immerse yourself in nature and find tranquility in the ocean’s embrace.  Task Force Hydro 1 started out with our 3 founders sitting on their surfboards in the ocean right here in Jacksonville.  Each of them has personally experienced the incredible powers of the ocean, and how surfing impacted their lives. Sitting out in the water together, they were able to connect on a deeper level than ever before, and that’s what encouraged the beginning of TFH1.
